Carpenter Reservoir Northbridge MA
We adored kayaking in the Carpenter Reservoir in Northbridge, Massachusetts throughout of fall 2011. However, in spring 2012 suddenly boulders were blocking the parking area. There was now nowhere to park in the area.
But then in mid-April 2012 the boulders were suddenly gone! Hurrah! We grabbed our kayaks and spent a lovely day on the lake. I adore kayaking around the Carpenter Reservoir and so we were quite happy.
Unfortunately, only a few weeks later the boulders were back. The sign that talked about good uses of the reservoir - no gas boats, etc. - had been pulled down. New signs had been posted reading "no tresspassing". So I'm afraid that this kayaking trip, on April 21, 2012, was our last opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Carpenter Reservoir. The Whitinsville Water Company has apparently changed their mind about public access to this body of water.
Here are the photos - enjoy! There are 39 photos in this set.
