Samuel Jennisons Will

In the name of God, amen I Samuel Jennison of Worcester in the County of Worcester and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Yeoman- considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be almighty God for the same do make, ordain and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say Principally and first of all I recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it, hoping for a pardon of all my sins through the mediation of the Saviour of the World- my Body I recommend to the Ground from whence it came in decent Christian burial And as touching such worldly Goods or Estates as it hath pleased God to bless me withal in this life I give and dispose of the same in the following manner and form vis~

In the first place my Will is, and I hereby order all my just Debts and funeral charges to be paid out of my Estate by my Executor hereafter named and as to the rest, residue and remainder of all my Estate both Real and Personal I give devise and bequeath the same to my beloved Wife Rebecca Jenison, to have and to hold the same to herself, her Heirs an Assigns forever.~

And Lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my good Friend Benjamin Heywood Esq. My sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills and Testaments by me made or Executors by me named ~

In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Thirty First day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twelve- Signed, sealed published and declared by the above named Samuel Jenison to be his last Will and Testament, in presence of us who have hereunto set our names as Witness in presence of the Testator~

To the Hon. Nath. Paine Esq. Judge of the Probate of Wills ____ for the County of Worcester- Sirs As I am named Executor to an Instrument purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Sam. Jenison late of Worcester decd. I hereby signify to your Honor that under present circumstances I must wholly decline taking upon myself the execution of the trust reposed in me by that instrument. Worcester Nov. 27th 1815

To all People to whom these presents shall come, Nathaniel Paine Esq. Judge of Probate of Wills. _____ in the County of Worcester within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Sendeth Greeting.

Know ye, that on the second day of January Anno Domini 1816 the Instrument hereunto annexed (purporting to the be the last Will and Testament of Samuel Jenison late of Worcester in the County of Worcester desc.) was presented for Probate, then present Nathaniel Curtis and John Curtis two of the Witness thereto subscribed, who made oath, that they saw the said Testator sign and seal and heard him declare the said Instrument to be his last Will and Testament and that they with Lois Smith subscribed their name together as Witnesses to the Execution thereof, in the said Testators presence; and that he was then (to the best of their judgment) of sound and disposing mind.

I do therefore Prove, Approve and Allow of the said Instrument as the Last Will and Testament of the above named Deceased and commit the Administration thereof in all matters the same concerning and of his Estate whereof he died seized and possessed in said Commonwealth unto Rebecca Jenison and Silas Brooks well and faithfully to execute the said Will and to administer the Estate of the said Deceased according thereto, who accepted said Trust and has given Bond to exhibit an Inventory of said Estate into the Probate Office in said County within three months and to render an Account upon Oath, of thee proceeding, when thereunto lawfully required.-
