On October 11, 2011, we decided to go explore the western half of Carpenter Reservoir in Whitinsville MA and take foliage photos. The parking lot is on the eastern side, and we'd kayaked in the eastern side twice. It was time to explore the other half! The reservoir is split right in half by a rickety road.

To get the kayaks in to the other half we had to carry them across the road and over a "wall" made up of large boulders. The wall is meant to keep cars out. It was short and easy, and the put-in spot was shallow and sandy.

It was a gorgeous day to be out on the water - warm weather, a gentle breeze, no other person in sight. We did hear geese honking from the other half of the reservoir but we never saw any flying overhead during our trip.

This was trip #10 for me on my Venus 11 kayak. I'm in double digits now! I'm really enjoying it.

Here are the photos from our excursion - enjoy!
