Poison Ivy is one of the nastiest plants found in Massachusetts. You absolutely want to know how to identify poison ivy through photos and descriptions. I have gotten poison ivy rashes so strongly that my face swelled up to look like a basketball. Save yourself from my fate. Know what this looks like, and avoid it at all costs.

The rule is "leaves of three - let them be". Any time you see a leaf set that has three green leaves coming from a single stem, stay away. Yes, sometimes they have a red stem. But sometimes they do not. It's safer to always be wary.

One thing to look for is that the central leaf of the three tends to be symmetrical. It is matched on the left and right. But the two side leaves often look like mittens.
