This church is right on the main common of the town, across from the town hall.
The town was first settled in 1717, and right away, in 1719, this church was built. The first members were Timothy Manning, Samuel Stearns, John Page, Elisha Johnson, Samuel Sibley, John Whipple, John Stockwell, Ebenezer Stearns, William Larned, and Samuel Parker. All records from its first 8 years are lost. At that point Rev. David Hall took over, and kept records.
