Photos of Sutton

In Sutton Massachusetts, Autumn 2003, I'm doing a week by week photo progression of the turning of the leaves.
This is week 2, October 5, 2003. We still have a very low volume of colored trees, and the ones that are yellow or brown seem to have gone 'crispy' very quickly. For this week, I took on the southeast quadrant of Sutton. This is a strange part of Sutton, with little peninsulas of land sticking into other towns. |

Next we headed along the southern side of Sutton, over to Manchaug. Manchaug is right in the center of the southern side of Sutton, so at the southwest corner of the green part of the map. Manchaug has a 'traffic island' with a memorial.

Normally the waterfall at Stevens Pond is in full flow, but at this time of year I could walk across the top of the waterfall ledge! Check out photos in the spring (elsewhere on this site) to see just what a difference it is.

Just a bit northwards from here is Tuckers Pond.

The top left edge of the green area is by the National Valley Golf Course, and Mendon Road is where we took these next few photos.

Finally, back to the top right corner of the green area, to Swan's Pond where Sutton juts back into Northbridge.
