October 2011 Noreaster
Many branches were snapped but hung in place. So again this is just our yard. All the houses around us had the same if not worse level of tree damage. The street all down its length was covered with down trees. Right in front of our driveway was a large tree down that a crew had to come and get. We knew of several other people whose cars were trapped in their driveways by trees. I.e. if they needed supplies like batteries or fire logs, they could not go get them. This is a good reminder to stock your house up with water, batteries, food, and fire logs before the snow begins to fall!
