Birch Blackguards was written in "real time". That is, if I saw a sun halo while doing yoga, I wrote that into the chapter for that day. I really did go to the Pleasant Valley Country Club, to Tricentennial Park, to Blackstone National, to the Worcester Art Museum, and to other locations on the days mentioned. I describe them exactly as they appear on those days.
