The Merrill Pond State Reservation in Sutton MA has several short walking trails around a string of quiet ponds. This series of slideshow photos was taken on October 9, 2010. We began at the northern end of the pond string and worked our way down the west side, stopping at three different "entry points". The first stop was at the very north edge, the second was at the "land bridge" and the third was in between the lower ponds.

This first image was taken at the very northern edge of the pond system, standing just off the road. These next few photos are all from that same area, looking south over the chain of ponds. The parking for this area is a dirt "pull in" immediately across from the old Eight Lots schoolhouse. There is no place to really "walk" at this location - you just stand by the road and admire the view.
