On Thursday, December 11th, 2008, Sutton Massachusetts got hit with a full blown ice storm, along with the rest of the New England area. Heavy, tropical like rains froze on the trees, turning them into "glass trees" with every tiny branch coated in a layer of ice. These super-heavy branches soon cracked under the weight, taking down hundreds of power lines. Sutton was without power until Friday, but much of New England fared far worse.
